Synthenet Helps the North Shore YMCA Create a New, Fun Look for the Web

NORTHBOROUGH, MA September 16, 2003 - Synthenet Corporation, a full service web development firm, announced that they completed the development and design of the North Shore YMCA Web Site (www.northshoreymca.org). The YMCA of the North Shore has been making an impact in the North Shore communities since 1858. They have a 145-year history of meeting community needs. The North Shore YMCA serves eleven communities including: Beverly, Essex, Gloucester, Hamilton, Ipswich, Manchester, Marblehead, Rockport, Salem, Swampscott and Wenham. They are proud to be considered part of the largest not-for-profit community service organization in America.

“The new web site is getting great reviews! People love the design and are getting into the content management piece and are finding it easy to use”, said Lanie McEntee, Marketing Director for the North Shore YMCA. Synthenet's Form Builder within the Content Management System allows clients to create forms (i.e. Contact Us Form) in a matter of minutes. Synthenet created a colorful, fun design that would appeal to all ages, which at the same time, would be easy for their users to navigate.

The new web site is maintained entirely in-house by over 30 staff members, each with individual editing roles. The content is changed on a daily basis and approved by the site's master administrator before being published on the live site. Members can get up-to-date schedules and program listings, as well as information about the various branches and program offerings. The YMCA has secure forms on the site for employment and volunteer opportunities as well as donation forms. The Messaging module provides a vehicle for North Shore YMCA to send diversified E-Newsletters to member lists from all branches, subscribers can view electronic mailings in both plain text and html format.
