
Geoff & Drew's began as a gourmet cookie baking business, delivering warm cookies to local homes and businesses.
Today, their award-winning products have been nationally recognized and Geoff & Drew's has expanded their business to include an extensive selection of the finest cookies, brownies, chocolates and coffees.
The existing Geoff & Drew's web site contained a small selection of items which could be ordered online. When they expanded into the gourmet gift-giving market, a new, elegant and sophisticated image was warranted.
In addition to a new look, Geoff & Drew's had decided to make their web site the functional backbone of their organization - from item and product inventory to baking schedules and production reports and a customer service order entry interface for telephone orders.
Since a web site can be costly to maintain (especially an E-commerce web site), Geoff & Drew's also wanted to manage the content and products on their web site, in-house. They needed the ability to add to and change the items featured on the site and change the site's theme at will, including home page photography.
Synthenet developed the new Geoff & Drew's Web Site in Content Management System v.6.0 with E-Commerce and Messaging.
In addition to a stunning new look and feel, a sophisticated product configuration administration was developed to allow Geoff & Drew's to manage every aspect of their products through the administration of the web site. Individual items are entered, such as gift baskets and boxes, other packaging elements, baked goods, candy, coffees and other novelty items, and are then configured into products with their respective images, which are assigned to the different categories on the web site. This will enable Geoff & Drew's to track all of their materials for inventory and accurately schedule their baking and production with information generated from within the administration when an order is placed.
Geoff & Drew's has the ability to update most elements contained in their web site, entirely in-house. Images (including the Home Page), text, product and category placement and an E-Newsletter generated through the Messaging Module are all within their control.
Geoff & Drew's began receiving orders on their new web site, immediately. Visitors can choose from a vast selection of gift boxes and baskets, are able to order multiple items and ship to multiple addresses in one order. Orders are processed in real-time and exported to a UPS shipping system.
Geoff & Drew's staff can enter new items to the site at any time.
Visitors to the site may search for items by price, category or holiday and can sign up to receive an E-Newsletter with updates about Geoff & Drew's product offering.
Phase Two of the Geoff & Drew's project will be complete in January 2004, and will include a customer service order entry interface, enhanced shipping options and a one-time purchase option in the shopping cart.
