"Our company reviewed proposals from several web developers, but none offered a content management product to match that of Synthenet, and the customer support has been fantastic."

FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE
Synthenet and Cookbook Resources Dish Up A New Web Site
NORTHBOROUGH, MA August 15, 2002 - Synthenet Corporation, a full service web development firm, completed the design and development of the Cookbook Resources Web Site (www.cookbookresources.com). With recipes for great food as the main attraction, their cookbooks also reflect the values everyone holds dear: family, friendship, traditions, home, and special times with special people. In the past three years, Cookbook Resources’ four best selling titles have sold more than 1,500,000 copies nationwide and the company currently publishes more than 30 titles.
Cookbook Resources wanted to develop a more attractive web site as well as one that would let them offer more to the community. Utilizing Synthenet’s Content Management System with E-Commerce they are able to sell their books online, change the featured books on the home page, and give special discounts to people ordering through their web site. “The site administration software is great! We can add new products and content, export orders and manage our email list – all in just minutes.” said Leeanne Bordelon, Director of Marketing.
It was important for Cookbook Resources to allow people to have a traditional book-buying experience. When most of us go to purchase a cookbook we want to thumb through a few of the pages and recipes to be sure it meets our taste, which had been a disadvantage of selling cookbooks online. Synthenet worked with Cookbook Resources to overcome this problem by creating an image gallery that allows customers to read pages, view the table of contents and even sample some recipes.
Currently Cookbook Resources offers three online newsletters, Recipe of the Week, Product Updates and New Releases, and their Monthly Newsletter. All newsletters are sent out using the E-Communications System developed by Synthenet that allows the subscribers to view it as plain text and also html format. “From initial concept to site launch and technical support, Synthenet has made this a painless – even enjoyable – process!” commented Leeanne Bordelon.
